Scottish Short Course National Championships

Nine York City Baths Club swimmers travelled to Tollcross Park, Glasgow  to compete in the Scottish short course championships where they had a busy weekend  competing  in both the Senior/ Junior events as well as the Youth events.   The York swimmers contested  8 finals with another 5 making semi finals.

14 year old Alice Sunderland was the only York medallist as she took silver in the youth, 15 and under 50m backstroke, she was also unlucky to finish just outside the medals finishing 4th in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle. She also made the final of the womens 100m Individual medley.

Rachel Eastaugh 13yrs swam an excellent personal best to finish 4th in the 50m backstroke whilst also making the semi final of the 50m breaststroke.  Andrew Fowler 15yrs missed a medal by just 7/ 100ths of a second in the youth 16and under 50m breaststroke. He also made the semi finals of the 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle. Alice Lawrenson 15yrs  made the final of both the youth and the womens 50m breaststroke finishing 9th and 10th respectively.  Hannah Waterfall 15yrs made the semi final of the youth 50m butterfly.

Personal best performances also came from Chris Burns, Nick Boaz, Lucy Recchia and Michelle Moffatt.
