Around forty York City Baths Club youngsters descended on Harrogate Hydro pool for the 23rd Harrogate open meet.  It proved to be another excellent meet with YCBC swimmers collecting 17 gold, 7 silver 14 bronze and a total of 108 top eight awards.

13 yr old Rachel Eastaugh was in fine form as she picked up 3 gold in the 50m freestyle,100m freestyle and 100m backstroke with 2 silvers in the 200m freestyle and 200m backstroke. Following close behind was Chris Burns 14yrs who completed a clean sweep of the breaststroke events taking gold in the 50m 100m and 200m breaststroke. Alice Sunderland 14yrs took gold in the 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle, silver in the 50m butterfly and bronze in the 50m breaststroke.

Norbert Banhidy 10yrs reaffirmed his liking for the backstroke events as he took gold in both the 50m and 200m backstroke. James Rogers 12yrs also a backstroke fan, took gold in the 50m and 100m backstroke. Michelle Moffatt 14yrs had a complete set of gold silver and bronze in the 200m freestyle, 100m freestyle and 200m IM respectively. Duncan Rajan 12yrs showed big improvements as he took gold in the 50m butterfly with a silver in the 100m freestyle.

Andrew Burns 11yrs took gold in the 200m breaststroke and then picked up 4 bronze in the 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 50m breaststroke and 200m butterfly. Andrew Fowler 15yrs took gold and bronze in the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle whilst Sophie Glasby 12yrs also took gold and bronze in the 200m backstroke and 100m backstroke.

Anna Atkinson-Smith 10yrs had a silver in the 200m butterfly and Keiran Taylor 14yrs also took silver in the 50m freestyle. Bronze medals winners were Sophie Edmunds-Allen 11yrs 50m and 200m breaststroke, Oliver Wilby 13yrs 100m backstroke,  Jennifer Hodgson 10yrs 200m breaststroke, Tom Jackson 13yrs 50m breaststroke and Becci Jenkins 100m butterfly.

Top eight awards also went to Anna Atkinson-Smith, Tom Jackson, Andrew Fowler, Chris Burns, Michelle Moffatt, James Rogers, Alice Lawrenson, Duncan Rajan, Becci Jenkins, Keiran Taylor, Andrew Burns, Sophie Glasby, Simon Duston, Rachel Eastaugh, Georgina Hart, Norbert Banhidy, Tom Eaton, Jennifer Hodgson, Michael Feetenby,  Luke Hutchinson, Lucy Recchia, James Wilby, Chloe Loft, Claire Owen and Olivia Lawrenson.
