Gala 2 of the 2005 Yorkshire age group
championships saw YCBC swimmers add another 7 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze with a
total of 25 swimmers competing in finals.
13yr old Hannah Petts continues to dominate her
age group as she collected four more golds to add to her collection. The wins
came in the 200m and 400m Individual medley, the 200m butterfly and the 100m
breaststroke and all the times were within the National Age Group Qualifying
times.
Andrew Burns 11yrs hit two more NAQ Times as he
surprised everyone to take gold in the 200m breaststroke and a silver in the
400m IM.
Anna Atkinson-Smith 10yrs collected her first
Yorkshire title taking gold in the 200m breaststroke. She also picked up a
bronze in the 400m IM with a 6th
in the 400m freestyle and 7th in the 200m backstroke.
Sophie Glasby 12yrs took gold in the 100m
backstroke and a bronze in the 400m freestyle.
Rachel Eastaugh 13yrs collected two bronze in
the 100m backstroke and 400m freestyle with a 4th in the 100m
breaststroke and 5th in the 200m IM.
Jennifer Hodgson 10yrs won her first Yorkshire
medal taking bronze in the 200m breaststroke with a 7th place in the
400m IM.
Other York swimmers making finals were; Oliver
Hicks 9yrs 4th in the 200m breaststroke, Tom Jackson 13yrs 5th
200m IM, Norbert Banhidy 11yrs 6th 200m backstroke, Sophie
Edmunds-Allen 11yrs 6th 100m breaststroke, Chris Burns 14yrs 7th
100m backstroke, Bradley Swainston
14yrs 8th 100m backstroke, Oliver Wilby 13yrs 7th 100m
backstroke and David Recchia 12yrs 7th in the 1500m freestyle
with an improvement of over 1 minute off his personal best time.
Other York swimmers performing personal best
times were, Rachael Webster, Simon Duston, James Rogers, Suzy Parrott, Georgina
Hart, Matthew Graham, Alex Fowler, Kirsty Smith, Hannah Carty, James Wilby, Toby
Clarkson, Lucie Calpin, Alice Carty, Aaron Perry and Tom Bartram.
