11yr old Andrew Burns was the star performer for York City Baths Club at the annual Middlesbrough Open Meet. He collected the ‘Top Boy’ award in a very close contest, winning three gold, two silver and three bronze. He also finished 5th in the 100m backstroke. Andrews golds were all in new meet record times and came in the 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly and 200m breaststroke. He collected silvers in the 200m Individual Medley and 200m freestyle with bronze in the 100m freestyle, 100m breaststroke and a new National Age Group Qualifying time in the 200m backstroke. 

Rachel Eastaugh 14yrs won gold in the 100m backstroke and silver in the 100m freestyle. She was 6th in the 200m backstroke, 7th in the 100m butterfly and 100m breaststroke and 8th in the 400m freestyle. 

Mairi Macdonald 16yrs and over took silver in the 100m breaststroke with a 5th place in the 200m IM.  

Sophie Glasby 12yrs collected another NAQT as she took bronze in the 100m backstroke with a 5th place in the 200m backstroke. 

Chris Burns 14yrs had a bronze in the 100m breaststroke, 7th place in the 100m and 200m freestyle and 8th in the 100m backstroke. 

Michelle Moffatt 14yrs travelled up for just one event and hit a NAQT as she took bronze in the 200m freestyle. 

Anna Atkinson Smith 10yrs hit another NAQT as she finished 4th in the 200m breaststroke. Swimming in the lower end of her age group she also finished 6th in the 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke, 7th in the 200m butterfly and 200m backstroke with an 8th place in the 200m IM.

Top Eight finishes also came from; Tom Jackson 14yrs 4th 200m breaststroke, Norbert Banhidy 11yrs 4th 100m backstroke, 5th 200m backstroke, James Wilby 11yrs 4th 200m breaststroke, Nick Boaz 16/over 6th 100m breaststroke,  Andrew Fowler 16/over 7th 100m breaststroke, James Rogers 13yrs 7th 100m backstroke and Kieran Taylor 15yrs 7th 100m backstroke.

Other York swimmers performing personal best times were; Lucy Recchia, Simon Duston, Alex Fowler, Lucie Calpin, Georgina Hart, Rachael Webster, Bradley Swainston, Kirsty Smith, Alice Carty, Charlotte Mason, Hannah Carty and Jennifer Hodgson.
