Gala 2  Harrogate

Following the success of the York Graded Meet, York City Baths Club swimmers travelled to The Hydro, Harrogate for Gala 2 of the 3 meet graded series. 4 gold, 8 silver, 8 bronze and a total of 36  ‘top 8’ awards were collected by the York youngsters.

Michael Feetenby 12yrs leapt out of graded swimming as he proved to be too fast and collected ‘speeding tickets’ in the 100m backstroke, 100m Individual Medley and 200m freestyle. He did however take gold in the 50m butterfly, silver in the 50m freestyle and 4th place in the 100m butterfly. 

Alex Fowler 13yrs took gold in the 200m breaststroke, silver in the 50m breaststroke and 5th in both the 50m butterfly and 100m IM. 

Georgina Holland 13yrs had a gold in the 50m breaststroke and a bronze in the 100m breaststroke. She also finished 4th in the 200m breaststroke and 8th in the 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly and 100m IM.

Vicky Graves 14yrs won gold in the 50m freestyle and finished 4th in the 200m freestyle.

Oliver Simpson 13yrs had 3 silvers in the 100m breaststroke, 100m backstroke and 100m IM,, bronze in the 50m breaststroke and was 5th in the 50m backstroke with 7th place in both the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle.

Tom Eaton 13yrs took silver in the 50m freestyle, bronze in the 50m backstroke and 5th place in the 50m breaststroke.

Silver medals came from Aaron Perry 10yrs 200m butterfly and Xavier Edmunds-Allen 12yrs 100m backstroke.

Oliver Hicks 10yrs collected a bronze in the 100m IM and was 5th in the 200m freestyle. Matthew Graham 13yrs had a bronze in the 200m backstroke, 5th 200m freestyle and 8th in the 50m freestyle. Bronze medal winners were Molly Eaton 10yrs 50m breaststroke, Kristian Newby 12yrs 50m breaststroke and Sophie Smith 14yrs 50m freestyle. Chloe Loft 15yrs finished 4th in the 200m breaststroke.

Other York swimmers performing personal best times were; Sophie Kilmartin, Georgina Wootton, Kate Morris, Rebecca Graham, Hannah Garnett, Gemma Oliver, Charlotte Dearlove, Eleanor Stevenson, Elizabeth Feetenby, Claire Kilmartin, Kate Garnett, Alex Perry, Sebastian Dobson, Suzy Parrott, Kayleigh Brown, Hannah Sturdy, Ellys Lockitt, Laura Streather, Louis Fligg, James Fligg, Matthew Fenech, Katie Mitchell and Jack Morris.
