The
Winter Yorkshire Long Course Championships held at Ponds Forge Sheffield saw two
York City Baths Club swimmers hit National Qualifying times for next summers
Youth and Age Group National Championships. Hannah Petts 14yrs saw a welcome
return to form as she took gold in the 200m Individual Medley and the 100m
butterfly both in NYQ Times.She also took bronze in both the 100m breaststroke
and 100m freestyle. Andrew Burns 12yrs was the other National Qualifier as he
took silver in the 200m IM and bronze in the 100m breaststroke.
The
York youngsters returned with 3 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze from a total of 53
finalists. All events were over the 100m distance with a 200m IM.
James Wilby was another gold medal winner taking the 11yrs 100m
breaststroke. Rachel Eastaugh 14yrs picked up silver in both the 100m backstroke
and 100m freestyle. Claire Owen 10yrs finished superbly over the last 10m to
snatch silver in the 100m breaststroke. Sophie Glasby 13yrs was another silver
medallist in the 100m backstroke.
Bronze
medallists were Jordan Foster 10yrs 100m butterfly, Tom Jackson 14yrs 100m
breaststroke and Oliver Wilby 14yrs 100m backstroke.
