Sheffield City Graded Meet

A small group of 11 York City Baths Club swimmers travelled to Ponds Forge Sheffield, for the annual Sheffield City Graded Meet.

10yrs old Katie Mitchell won gold in the 50m freestyle but proved to be too fast in the 50m backstroke and picked up a ‘speeding ticket.’  Kristian Newby 12yrs also swam too fast as he collected a speeding ticket in the 100m breaststroke. Georgia Mellors 13yrs took a bronze in the 100m freestyle whilst Chris Holmes 15yrs finished 4^th in the 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly and 50m freestyle. His brother Matthew Holmes 14yrs took 5^th in the 100m butterfly.

Other York swimmers posting personal best times were;  Charlotte Dearlove, Kayleigh Brown, Laura Newby, Hannah Sturdy, Georgina Wootton and Claire Kilmartin.
