26^th Annual Graded Meet

York City Baths Club swimmers enjoyed the day at Edmund Wilson swimming pool  as the home club hosted the 26^th Annual graded meet. The York youngsters collected 9  'Speeding tickets',  8 gold, 7 silver, 6 bronze and a total of 40 top six medallists. All events were over the 50mtr distance with the addition of a 100m Individual Medley.

9yr old Sebastian Dobson was in fine form as he collected a ‘Speeding Ticket’ in the freestyle and breaststroke events then took gold in the backstroke and butterfly.  Hannah Sturdy 10yrs picked up gold in both the freestyle and breaststroke with a 6^th place in the backstroke.  Another double gold medallist was 11yr old Aaron Perry who won the backstroke and butterfly events.  Maani Aghahoseini 10yrs collected a full set of gold silver and bronze in the breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle with a 5^th place in the IM.  Kate Morris 11yrs had an impressive win in the Individual Medley then took 6^th place in the butterfly.  Ben Barber 10yrs picked up 3 ’Speeding Tickets’ in the backstroke, breaststroke and IM then took 4^th place in the butterfly.   Alex Perry 9yrs also proved to be too fast as he took ’Speeding tickets’ in the backstroke and freestyle.  Edward Coates 9yrs came home with 3 silver medals in the backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.  Angus Clarke 11yrs had a silver in the IM and 4^th place in both the breaststroke and butterfly.  Edward Bradley 10yrs collected a ‘Speeding ticket’ in the breaststroke and took silver in the freestyle.  Kate Garnett 10yrs  took silver in the breaststroke with a 6^th place in the butterfly.  Tom Bartram 11yrs had a ’Speeding ticket in the backstroke and took bronze in the butterfly.  Charlotte Dearlove 10yrs took bronze in both the butterfly and IM. James Fligg 13yrs had a bronze in the butterfly and finished 4^th in the breaststroke, freestyle and IM. Matthew Graham 14yrs had a bronze in the backstroke with a 6^th place in the freestyle.

Top six finishes also came from;  Matthew Holmes 14yrs 4^th place freestyle, butterfly and IM.  Kristian Newby 12yrs 4^th backstroke.  Emma Bryant 12yrs  6^th backstroke.  Beth Falcus 9yrs 6^th butterfly and  Alex Metcalfe 10yrs 4^th breaststroke.

Other York swimmers performing personal best times were;  Rebecca Graham, Jessica Massam, Georgina Wooton, Matthew Fenench, Rachel Holderness, Kayleigh Brown, Gemma Thirsk, Laura Newby, Oliver Giordano, Thomas Sutton, Jack Stewart, Ross Hunter, Laura Pitt, Ellie Telfer, Katie Proctor, Luke Richmond and Matthew Bradley.
